Alyona Shulima and Olena Yaliieva actively participated in developing the UBA GR Committee's proposals

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the Code of Ethical Conduct for Lobbying Entities. The approval of the Code of Ethical Conduct is another step towards establishing transparent rules for lobbying entities and fostering a lobbying culture in Ukraine.

The Code has been adopted in accordance with Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine "On Lobbying" and covers the following topics:

  • General provisions;
  • General rules of ethical conduct for lobbying entities;
  • Interaction of lobbying entities with lobbying targets;
  • Interactividades de lobbying con clientes y beneficios;
  • Interaction of lobbying entities with other lobbying entities.

During the discussion of the draft Code, Alyona Shulima, Ph.D., a Pragma Partner and Head of the GR Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), along with Olena Yaliieva, a Pragma's Counsel and a member of the GR Committee of the UBA, actively participated in developing the UBA GR Committee's proposals aimed at clarifying the provisions of the Code and preventing possible ambiguities. Additionally, as representatives of the UBA GR Committee, they played an active role in discussions of the draft, which allowed the incorporation of some of their suggestions into the final version of the document.

❗️ As is known, the Law of Ukraine “On Lobbying” was passed by parliament on February 23, 2024. The law should enter into force on January 1, 2025, unless parliament introduces amendments to delay its implementation.
